North Pend Oreille Valley Lions Club

The North Pend Oreille Valley Lions Club was chartered in 1974 and is located in the north end of Pend Oreille County in North Eastern Washington.

Lions Clubs International has over 1,400,000 clubs worldwide. Our international projects include LCIF (Lions Club International Foundation) and Sight & Hearing Foundation. One of our Multiple District 19 projects is C.A.R.E.

Our motto is "We serve". Our members attend meetings, serve on committees, and help the club whenever possible.

The North Pend Oreille Valley Lions Club belongs to a zone that consists of six clubs, five of them in Canada (Nelson, Salmo, Castlegar Selkirk, Kootenay-Slocan, and Kootenay Lake). Our zone is E8, which is an eleven zone District. There are 72 clubs in our eleven-zone District. There are a total of nine districts with a total of 538 clubs in Multiple District 19.

North Pend Oreille Valley Lions Club meets on the 1^st and 3^rd Thursday of every month, except August, which we take off for summer vacation. The board of directors meets one hour prior to the second regular meeting of the month. Anyone is welcome to attend our meetings.

Our main fundraiser is the North Pend Oreille Valley Train Rides six weekends, starting on the last weekend in July and ending late October. Everyone who goes on one of our rides helps our club to help the community—both locally and globally. Other club fund raising functions are White Cane Days and Christmas Greeting Boards. We also participate, with other local organizations, in the Down River Days Celebration in Ione and the Affair On Mainstreet in Metaline Falls.
