1. How long is the train ride?
The round-trip train ride is 90 minutes long.
2. How much do tickets cost?
Tickets are $15.00 for adults, $10.00 for seniors (65 and up), and $10.00 for children (ages 2 to 12). Children under 2 years old ride free.
3. How often do the train rides run?
We have train rides during one weekend in July. The July ride is always the last full weekend in July to correspond with Ione's big "Downriver Days Celebration". Our next train rides are during Labor Day weekend in September. And, we have train rides during the 1st four weekends of October. The rides are on Saturday and Sunday only. Take a look at our home page for the ride schedules.
4. Do I need to book tickets ahead of time?
Yes. You can reserve your tickets online at www.lionstrainrides.com or you can call our toll free phone number 1-877-5ALL-ABOARD (1-877-525-5226) between 6 AM and 6 PM Monday through Friday. If there are any tickets left for a ride they will be sold at the station. Tickets purchased at the station must be paid in cash or check only.
5. What time should we arrive at the station?
We recommend guests to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the train boarding. Go to the ticket booth to check in and then proceed to the lines and select the train car that you would like to ride in. There is no assigned seating. Groups needing special assistance should arrive one hour prior to departure and alert us to their needs.
6. Will food be sold on the train?
No. There is a snack bar at the station grounds where you can purchase hamburgers and hot dogs. Guests are welcome to bring their own lunch and drinks in small carry on containers.
7. Is the train wheelchair accessible?
There is one open air car that is wheelchair accessible. If you want to ride in an enclosed coach you must be able to ascend a few steps (we are happy to assist you as best we can) to get into one of the enclosed coaches. Groups needing special assistance should arrive one hour prior to departure and alert us to their needs.
8. What town does the train depart from?
All train rides originate in Ione, except the Labor Day Weekend trains. The Labor Day Weekend trains originate in Metaline Falls.

Tickets are sold on a "first come first serve" basis so you must pay for your tickets at the time you make the reservation. Only certified service dogs are allowed. Other pets are not allowed on the rides and there is very little parking in the shade so it is probably best to leave Rover or Frisky at home.
