Purchase or pick up your tickets at the depot built in 1999 by the Lions Club at the end of Main Street in Ione. It's a good idea to buy tickets a month in advance, because the trips often sell out early. If you plan to buy your tickets at the depot the day of your ride, please bring cash or a check. We cannot process credit cards at the depot.
Pets are not allowed on the rides and there is very little parking in the shade, so it is probably best to leave Rover or Frisky at home.
Once you have purchased or picked up your tickets, take a few minutes to visit the depot. Purchase snacks and drinks from our kitchen to enjoy while waiting to board the train or while aboard the train. Also inside the depot is our souvenir shop where you will find many items to take home to help you remember your adventure.
About 30 minutes prior to departure, the train will arrive and the NPOV Lions Club volunteers will spot the cars so the current passengers can de-board safely. Once the current passengers de-board, you can board any of the cars and find a seat for your trip.
Our October rides can be quite chilly and we encourage riders to dress appropriately. We have three (3) enclosed coaches and three (3) open air cars, we cannot guarantee you a seat in an enclosed car, so you may want to bring a banket.
Our October rides frequently sell out, so your best chance to get a seat is to arrive thirty (30) minutes before your scheduled ride; however, we cannot guarantee that some riders will not have to stand for the ride.
No passengers are allowed off the train until it returns to the ride origination point. You can buy tickets here on our website any time or call 1-877-5ALL-ABOARD (1-877-525-5226) between 6 AM and 6 PM Monday through Friday. For more information, e-mail information here, call us, or explore our website further.
